Camellia Coffee Roasters is a bright and inviting coffee shop nestled in Sacramento’s Midtown area, ideal for morning meetups or a calm afternoon break. Its location on R Street offers a blend of indoor and outdoor seating that caters well to both focused work sessions and social catch-ups. Inside, you’ll find a clean, thoughtfully decorated space featuring tiled benches and modern chairs that balance a lively yet relaxed vibe. Outside, wooden benches under a covered patio create a casual spot to enjoy the city air when the weather cooperates.

Locals often stop here for breakfast, which comes in the form of carefully crafted sandwiches and pastries. Standouts include the fluffy breakfast sandwiches—like the bacon and avocado or sausage combos—served on fresh brioche or flaky croissants that hold up well even on the go. The coffee menu leans into both classic and creative options, with cappuccinos, cortados, and almond milk lattes drawing regulars who appreciate smooth, well-steamed milk and balanced espresso shots. For those wanting something different, the horchata cold brew or a matcha latte provide a refreshing twist, though the sweet level can vary, so it’s best to ask for adjustments if you prefer less sweetness.

Camellia attracts a mix of downtown workers, students, and neighborhood residents looking for a place where they can settle in with a laptop or enjoy a relaxed breakfast with friends or coworkers. It’s less about a rushed grab-and-go and more about lingering comfortably without feeling overshadowed by overly minimalist or sterile décor. Parking nearby is relatively easy, which adds to the convenience factor for those coming in the morning rush.

The best time to visit is in the late morning before the lunch crowd arrives, especially if you want to claim a spot inside for some focused time or enjoy the calm atmosphere. On weekends or during busier periods, expect a slightly buzzy, social environment that still allows for easy conversation and relaxed sipping. Overall, Camellia Coffee Roasters fits neatly into the Midtown scene as a dependable spot for a satisfying coffee and breakfast, where attention to quality and a welcoming atmosphere meet.

This coffee shop is very cute and bright with lots of seating. Inside there’s seating on tiled benches and chairs, outside there is seating in wooden benches covered under the patio roof. Great place to sit at if the weather is nice out! The inside is clean, cutely decorated, and has a modern aesthetic but not minimalist. When it’s not busy it’s very chill and would be a great place to do homework or work. This place does get very busy! The staff are nice, mostly when it’s not busy understandably, I’ve been here a couple times and haven’t had a bad interaction. Recently I came and got their breakfast sandwich with sausage and an iced matcha with oat milk and I added honey. The sandwich was super tasty, the eggs were cooked perfectly and was very filling. I loved the cheese and scallions they added to it. The matcha was unfortunately disappointing. I had gotten it once before and I liked it but this recent time it had a watered down flavor and was not sweet at all despite the barista telling me the matcha it already sweetened and asking if I was sure I wanted to add honey to it. I’d come back to try a coffee or tea drink instead. The prices seem standard for other coffee shops/cafes.

Camellia Coffee hits all the right notes for downtown Sacramento. Bright, welcoming, and buzzy in the best way, it is the kind of café where you can settle in and actually enjoy your coffee. I had their flat white and loved it, silky microfoam with that paint-like texture and a clean, balanced shot underneath. They use organic barista milk that steams beautifully, and the roast sits in that light to medium sweet spot, smooth with gentle fruit and a little cocoa on the finish. The baristas are friendly and precise, latte art on point, and the whole space feels thoughtful without trying too hard. If you are a flat white person, this is your spot. I will happily come back for another round.

On another adventures of Rudy’s Eats brings us to this awesome coffee shop located in the charming midtown area! I stopped in early in the morning to grab my staff some of their delicious breakfast sandwiches. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with bacon and avocado. I was blown away on how amazing the sandwiches were. The eggs were cooked to perfection and the texture was fluffy which I loved. I also really liked how they added scallions and this awesome cheese matched with their crispy bacon that took the sandwich to another whole level! With all the combinations of different flavors and culinary technique this is easily one of the best breakfast sandwiches I ever had in my life and reminds me of some places that I tried in Los Angeles but this sandwich was way better. My staff loved the sandwiches and I will definitely be back to grab breakfast every single week since I’m so close to the coffee shop.

Great spot for breakfast! I visited with coworkers, and the atmosphere was lovely. Parking was easy. I had a Matcha latte and a sausage sandwich. The sandwich was excellent—flaky and buttery bread. The Matcha was a bit too sweet for my taste, but overall, everything was delicious. I’ll likely return.

Hands down one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had. The coffee was just okay, I’m not sure that they add much syrup, and I’d love to see them have more flavor options. There were only three choices. Overall highly recommend for breakfast and a simple coffee.

This place is so fun. On the weekends, the lines can be lengthy but so worth the wait. If there is a line, it’s a good sign. The breakfast sandwiches NEVER miss and neither do the coffees or staff. Everyone here is so kind and attentive. Lots of seating inside and outside. I will be back and telling my friends! The sausage and egg breakfast sandwich is served with hot sauce and it is other worldly. So good.
